Costa Rica Memories

"We travelled to Costa Rica with our then 3 yr old and it was a great experience and Marisa was very patient with several questions I had. Our tour guide was very personable and like a grandfather to my son. My son is allergic to mosquito bites and a day before we were to come back to the US he got bite which resulted in painful lime sized swelling. Our guide immediately called his family friend who happens to be a doctor who took care of everything, nothing serious but the fact that you are in safe hands in unknown land with a little one alone is awesome. Also the doctor charged us $50 US for driving to us and seeing my son in home, I almost fainted at the low price - just incredible overall!" - Sowjanya N.,  Sammamish, WA

An Amazing Escape to Costa Rica

"The team at WorldwideXplorer put together an amazing Costa Rica vacation for me; working with Marisa and Sarat was a pleasure. Staying in the picturesque mountains of Grecia was ideal; the climate, accommodations, and scenery could not have been better. The units in Grecia are beautifully appointed with modern appliances and amenities; there is even a small swimming pool on site. You feel like you are miles away from civilization, yet it is very easy to access restaurants, stores, etc.

The day trip tours are also fantastic. On one of the days, I took a day trip to Manuel Antonio National Park. Along the way, we stopped at a market to get a variety of local, fresh fruit including mangoes, pineapple, guava, and something called a grenadine, all of which were delicious. We sampled typical Costa Rican cuisine and enjoyed some local ice cream as well. There were many gorgeous views along the way, and we even made a stop to view a large gathering of crocodiles in a river!

Manuel Antonio National Park is definitely worth the drive. I saw a large array of animals while walking to and from the beach (including several sloths, monkeys, and South American raccoons). The small beach boasts of pristine white sand and warm water almost reminiscent of stepping into a warm bath! I could have easily spent the whole day there! Though I did not hike on any of the optional trails, I still saw plenty of amazing creatures and loved the experience.

I also took a day trip to the La Fortuna area to walk the suspension bridges in the cloud forest near Arenal Volcano, and to soak in the hot springs afterwards. The suspension bridges were amazing and should not be rushed. I saw a group of curious white-faced Capuchin monkeys, about 8 warthogs, several birds (including a big, blue Macaw), butterflies, and more. The hot springs were just what I needed afterwards: warm, relaxing, and invigorating after the trek.

If you are planning an overseas excursion, definitely contact WorldwideXplorer; they will ensure that you have an unforgettable experience that exceeds your expectations!" - Steve K., Northbrook, IL
