KwaZulu-Natal, Kruger, Swaziland Safari Tours

This safari excursion departs from Johannesburg and finishes in Durban (with the option to end in Johannesburg for an additional fee), and includes Kruger National Park, several game reserves in the KwaZulu-Natal region, and even a night in the country of Swaziland! You will have the chance to go on some amazing game drives, riverboat excursions, and the opportunity to enjoy the warm Indian Ocean with a beach walk and/or swim. The scenery along the way will also be quite stunning. This excursion even includes one night-time game drive with the opportunity to spot some of the nocturnal animals that live in the area. These tours last from 6 to 8 days in length and can be customized!

This safari gives you a lot of options to be combined with many of our other South Africa safaris in and around Kruger, as well as the Addo Elephant Park excursions.

Day 1: Johannesburg to Kruger National Park

Accommodations: Chalet

Meals: Dinner (with wine)

You will be picked up in Johannesburg between 6:30 - 8:00AM and begin the journey to the Skukuza Camp Site at Kruger National Park. We will stop for lunch along the way (at your own expense). After reaching the park in the afternoon, you will have ample time to settle in, walk around the camp site, and explore the shop on site. We will take our first game drive this afternoon in an open air vehicle for 3-4 hours. Weather permitting, we will enjoy dinner outdoors, discussing today's experience with our group. Wine is included with dinner, and additional beverages may be purchased at the gift shop.

Kruger National Park

Accommodations: Chalet

Meals: Morning snack, Brunch, Dinner (with wine)

Note: The 6 day safari does not spend any full days at Kruger; please skip to the Kruger National Park to Swaziland item for the 6 day-long itinerary. The 7 day itinerary spends 1 day at Kruger, and the 8 day itinerary spends 2 full days at Kruger.

All days in Kruger National Park will follow a very similar itinerary.

Each morning, get up early for the first game drive of the day. You will be given a light snack of tea or coffee and rusks (dried bread) to dunk into your beverage. This will be followed by the game drive which will last 3-4 hours. All game drives use specially adapted 4x4 vehicles that are essentially open air, giving all guests the best possible view, no matter the seat.

Upon returning to the camp site, a large brunch will be served. After this, you will have time to relax and do as you please. There will be opportunities to visit the Stevenson-Hamilton Memorial Library, swim in the pool, browse the park's shop, walk around the camp, watch for many of the birds that make their home here, and enjoy peaceful views of the Sabie River from the restaurant.

The afternoon game drive will again last for several hours, giving you more opportunity to see amazing wildlife.

Dinner will again be served al fresco, weather permitting. You will have the chance to relax, unwind, and compare notes with your fellow travelers.

Kruger National Park to Swaziland

Accommodations: Chalet

Meals: Breakfast, Dinner

Wake up very early for the first game drive of the day. Before heading out, you will have a small snack of rusks (dried biscuits) and coffee or tea. The game drive will last 3-4 hours and will be a good opportunity to see some of the predators before they slow down after dawn. Breakfast will then be served, and we will be on our way.

We will stop for lunch en route (at your own expense), and will go into the mountainous region of the land-locked small country of Swaziland, which is still ruled by a king.

Spend the night at Swaziland Royal National Parks. Did you know that the king owns all of the animals in the park? Dinner will be served outdoors, weather permitting.
